Images of the last thirteen chapters flash as a deep voice begins to say:
Long ago, a dark lord was defeated...by three mighty heroes, but…the three fell. Then, a many millennia later, the dark lord was resurrected, and soon after his resurrection, he seized control of the demon plains. But then a resistance group, who would later be known as The Bloods, rose to defeat this dark lord. The dark lord discovered the three heroes were being resurrected as well, so the dark lord somehow managed to take hold of one of those three heroes...pitting them against each other. And to guarantee his victory, he fused this one hero with many powerful demon remains, ensuring he would be the most powerful. But when the last two heroes were found…the dark lord tried to corrupt these heroes as well. However, he had failed, and paid a devastating price. After one of the battles between the heroes and the corrupt one, the corrupt one broke free of the dark lord’s strong grip. The dark lord underestimated the heroes, but now the dark lord, known as Varcus, will not underestimate them again...... The Eternal WAR Chapter 1: "Normal" Again
(Camera fades in; busses, cars, people walking, green grass and bright sun beating down on everyone; sounds of kids laughing and playing, birds chirping. We see Michael walking down a hill on the sidewalk, carrying a book bag over his right shoulder.)
Michael’s voice echoes in over all these things:
I don't really know where to begin, so I guess I'll start off with giving a little info about me. Ok, my name is Michael Seki, I'm 15, and I've never really lived what you would call a "normal" life. I've always been considered weird, but I had no clue I was actually this weird. I've lived in this town my whole life, and I've never liked being one of the crowd. As far as family goes, it's not even a question worth answering. I'm more of a reject of my family. Guess I didn't turn out to be what they wanted. Go figure...
Well, it's been more than two months since we left the Demon Plains...and ever since, everything’s been rather calm. Well, nothing out of the ordinary anyway…No one seems to remember we ever left. I guess we can thank Anna for that…
(David and Anna come walking behind Michael; David walking and bending down, as if he were trying to grab something off the ground; Michael looks back at them and waits for them to catch up, then continues walking.)
Michael's voice continues: David is also 15. He's…Let’s face it, he's pretty dumb; however, he can be smart. Well, somewhat smart when he wants to be. He lives with his parents who, unlike mine, actually are a real family.
Anna found us back in the Demon Plains and we ended up following her. She lost her whole family to Varcus when she was a little kid. She ended up joining a resistance group called the "Bloods", who fight against Varcus.
After we went through that portal, David had forgotten everything that happened in the Demon Plains. He doesn't even remember what we have, and I can't even so much as grab my sword anymore. Hell, I can't even see it anymore. Anna mentioned something about a barrier that prevents both light and dark energy from being seen or used in the human realm; I don't remember the details...
(A girl with black hair, wearing blue jeans and a white shirt named Jamie comes running towards Anna from the front.)
Jamie: Hey Olivia!!
Anna: Huh?
Jamie: I forgot my stuff!! I need to go back and get them.
Anna: Again?
Jamie: Just come with me.
(Jamie pulls Anna's hand and takes off running.)
"Guess I'll see ya guys later!" Anna yells to Michael and David as she's getting pulled away.
Michael’s voice continues:
It seems that somehow Anna was able to replace Olivia. No one can even tell the difference, not even David. I can…but…I don't know...It's all so confusing, and I can't even really tell if I approve of it or not. I mean she's replacing the life of someone...pretending to be someone who’s gone...but on the other hand…she is the only reason we were able to come back…So I guess even if I really don't approve of it...I have to go with it...And besides all that...she does act quite a bit like her...
(camera pans up the hill and you see a big red-bricked building at the top with tons of people around it)
Michael: This school...the place it all started, the place we first learned about these..."powers".
(As they all enter the building pushing through two packed doors, they see a tall and thin boy named Joe with black hair at a gray locker with the numbers 586 on it.)
Joe: Hey guys.
(David opens up a locker right next to Joe’s with the number 588 engraved on it, and Michael just leans his back against locker 587.)
David (looks at Michael): Why don't you ever use that thing?
Michael: I have no use for it.
Joe: Why do they even bother assigning you a locker when you never even open it?
David: Do you even know the combination?
Michael: Actually...I have no clue what the combination is anymore...
David: I knew it...
(Joe and David start talking to each other.)
Michaels voice: Joe....I don't know a whole lot about him. All I really know is he is very random...even more than David; he hangs out with us quite a lot, though...
*bell rings*
Michael: Damn....
(Michael enters a door to a room with everyone staring at him.)
Miller: Michael, you’re late...again.
Michael: Yeah...So?
Miller: Are you trying to win the "Most Tardy Award” or something?
Michael: Ahh, get off my back...
(Michael sits down in the desk farthest away from the teacher’s.)
(Everyone watches Miller as he talks about some famous war while Michael’s half asleep.)
Michael’s voice: Everything’s been the same every day...no changes…We go through the day as normal school kids, (which after what happened, I find it hard to believe I can say that...) without David remembering a single thing from that day, and me unable to fight at all... I guess we really would be considered normal…and actually…much to my surprise...I kinda of miss my abilities a little. I mean, for a brief two months…I had the power to do something, to make a difference...
(two minutes before the bell rings)
Miller: And by the way, don't forget: There’s an assembly during 5th period.
(Miller sees Michael lying on his desk sleeping with his binder on the ground. Miller picks up his binder and slams it on his desk right by his head.)
Michael throws his head up: I didn't do it!
(Michael looks around the room to see everyone staring at him.)
Miller: That woke you up fast.
Michael mumbles "You would wake up fast, too." under his breath.
*bell rings*
(Everyone shuffles out of their seats and out the door; Michael follows behind them all.)
(David and Anna run up to Michael as he walks out the door.)
Michael: So what’s this assembly?
David: A pep assembly.
(Anna has a confused look on her face.)
Michael says "Greeeeaat.” sarcastically.
Michael: You'll learn soon enough Anna.
(Michael, Anna, and David stand outside of a door with tons of people walking into a big gym.)
(A teacher walks up to them.)
Teacher 1: What are you guys waiting for? Go in.
Michael: Urgh, ok, if you wanna go play "War of the Doors”, then go right ahead, but we’re not.
(Teacher walks away giving a weird "what the hell" look.)
(After everyone goes in, Michael, Anna, and David finally enter the gym, packed with everyone in the school.)
(Michael and David sit nine rows up from the bottom, and Anna sits on the tenth row, right above Michael and David.)
(About four minutes into the assembly, Michael's half asleep, David stares down, and Anna actually looks interested in it.)
(One of the teachers names off all the athletes in the sports one by one and for each name called, a cheerleader jumps.)
Anna taps Michael on the back: Umm, Michael...Your friend’s starting to creep me out.
(Michael looks up at her, and then looks at David who's pretty much drooling over the cheerleaders.)
Michael: Urgh...
(Michael punches David in the head.)
David: Ow, what the hell...?
Michael: Stop being such a damn pervert!
Anna: Thank you.
(They sit through the assembly for another ten minutes.)
(Michael sits there, half asleep yet again.)
(Michael's eyes suddenly open wide.)
Michael: Anna, you feel that?
Anna: Feel what?
Michael: You know what.
Anna: No I don--*she pauses*...Now I do…Wait...He sensed it before even I did...That’s odd...
(Michael and Anna both jump up and start running to the exit at the same time; then a teacher looks at them.)
Teacher: Hey, where are you two going?
Michael: Skipping! Anna: Restroom! (They yell while running down steps.)
Anna: You couldn't have thought of a better excuse?
Michael: What’s the point? We’re gonna get written down as skipping anyway; why bother making up a lie?
Anna: Why did you even come along? It's not like you can do anything...
Michael: Oh, shut up. You expect me to just stand around when one of these things come? If so, then you’re gonna be very disappointed.
Anna: Whatever.
(Michael and Anna run down a long hallway.)
(Anna stops running and looks around.)
(Michael runs past her.)
Anna: Where are you going?!
Michael looks back: To find that thing!
Anna: ...You mean you can still sense it?
Michael: Well, yeah.
Anna: …Wait up. (Anna runs to catch up with Michael.)
(In the distance, Anna and Michael see a demon dragging a girl in its mouth.)
Michael: Hold it right there!
Demon: Shit, you guys can see me?
Michael: Umm…Yeah! How could we not?!
Demon: Well, today’s my lucky day. I don't sense any power in you, and very little in your friend. Lord Varcus will be pleased with me for bringing three humans who can see us!
Michael: Oooh, you work for Varcus, do you?
Demon: You know Lord Varcus?
Michael: Yeah, in fact, I talked to him before.
Demon: Seriously, what a great ruler, right?
Michael: Haha, I want to watch him die a slow, horrible death.
Anna: Oh, will you guys just shut up?!
(Anna jumps over and punches the Demon right in the face, which sends it flying down the hall.)
Michael grabs the girl: Anna, finish him off.
Anna: Fine.
Michael: And by the way, aren't you glad I came now?
Anna: Fine, whatever, just go!
(Michael picks up the girl and starts running the way they came.)
(Someone with a black robe appears from a black portal; Anna notices an emblem that appears to be a snake-like dragon.)
Anna: Another one of Varcus's slaves, I assume...
Mysterious Figure: I do not work for anyone of that name.
Demon: Wait a minute, who the hell are you? You’re not one of Varcus's servants.
Mysterious Figure: I believe I already made that clear.
Demon: Wait a minute...that emblem…You’re one of the...
Mysterious Figure: Enough. Have fun in Hell.
(He sends a fireball out of his hand and completely incinerates the Demon.)
Mysterious Figure: Vermin.
Anna: Wait. So, hold on, are you with the Bloods?
Mysterious Figure: No.
Mysterious Figure: My task is almost completed. I just need that girl.
Anna: So...you are an enemy aren’t you…
Mysterious Figure: It depends on your point of view.
Anna: Well, you come here to stop a demon from taking a girl in which you’re now taking for yourself...so from my point of view…you’re an enemy.
Mysterious Figure: My task is complete.
(He returns to the portal he came from, suddenly carrying the girl.)
(Michael looks at his arms, trying to find the girl.)
Michael: What the hell? Where’d she go...? How did she go…or...urgh...What the HELL!! (starts to run back to Anna)
Anna: Now that I think about it...that emblem didn't look like the Death Dragons’ symbol...
("Shinrok," Anna says under her breath as Michael comes around the corner of the hall next to her.)
Michael: What about Shinrok?
Anna: The emblem that guy was wearing....It looked a lot like...
*Anna remembers seeing the snake-like figure known as the Black Dragon.*
Michael: I might actually be able to explain this...
"As you heard before…the dark lord Varcus had a "son" he called Shinrok. And of course, from what I've seen…you can pretty much see the resemblance in them. They all talk like rich royal asses who think they’re so much better than everyone else, not to mention they’re both stubborn as hell!"
Anna: And you’re one to talk there...
Michael: I'm not that stubborn!
Anna: You almost died four times in two weeks...How can you say you’re not stubborn?!
Michael: Back to what I was saying before you interrupted me…
"But, back when I fought him, when the camp was attacked…he turned into this thing...It actually looked kinda like that emblem…"
Anna: Just what I thought...It was him...
*Michael begins to rant on about important details.*
Anna: But what would he want with a normal human...?
**************************************************************************************************************** ~Flashback~ Demon: Well, today’s my lucky day. I don't sense any power in you, and very little in your friend. Lord Varcus will be pleased with me for bringing three humans who can see us! **************************************************************************************************************** Anna: Wait…He said "three” that could see him, so that means she could…But still, there’s plenty of people who have that ability...
Michael: So, is he getting rid of all the humans who can see us?
Anna: That’s probably thinking a little too much…He wouldn't even waste his time with that...
Michael: Unless something happened...
Michael: And by the way...Why are we talking about Shinrok alone and not Varcus?
Anna: No reason.
**************************************************************************************************************** ~Memory~ Rex: It's probably best we don't tell the Avon about Shinrok.
Anna: Why not?
Rex: Because we don't know exactly what his intentions are yet...Just don't tell him, and that’s an order.
Anna: As of right now, there’s nothing we can do. I guess we just keep our eyes out for those things.
Michael: Ok.
(Michael walks away and goes to walk out the doors.)
Anna: Hey, where are you going?
Michael: We’re gonna get written up for skipping no matter what now. Might as well just take the rest of the day off…
Anna: Whatever. And by the way, if you see one of those things, don't fight it alone, got it?
Michael: Yeah, yeah. Whatever, I'm out.
(Michael kicks open the door to the exit and leaves.)
(An eye hooked to the corner watches Michael leave. In a dark place that looks much like Varcus's castle did, someone looks through the eye through an orb.)
Figure 1: It appears the Avon has gotten weaker.
Figure 2: It's something to be expected. The barrier probably knocked his powers straight out of him…
The Mysterious Figure: My lord, what are you planning of the Avon? What exactly do we keep him alive for?
A Familiar Voice: Because with the Avon and the Bloods keeping Varcus busy, we can do whatever we want. As long as they’re keeping him distracted, we just have to do something to pull them towards each other once again...and besides all that…
The being that that has been talking walks out of the shadows. The light reveals Shinrok standing there, wearing a completely different and new set of armor, which appears to have dragon sculptures all over it and a hood-like cape.
Shinrok: …Who said this Avon is actually our enemy...?
